Healing Starts Now

When anxiety, intimacy struggles, or relationship tension get in the way of the life you want, it can feel lonely and overwhelming. I help individuals and couples unpack what’s keeping them stuck and develop clear, practical strategies to improve communication, manage anxiety, and rebuild connection.

I’m Dr. Yaakov Abramovitz, a licensed psychologist specializing in couples counseling, sex therapy, and the treatment of anxiety and OCD. I also work with individuals navigating life transitions, trauma, and questions of religious identity.

I believe that good therapy feels like a conversation with a purpose - a space where people feel fully seen, understood, and supported as they work toward meaningful change. My approach is active, collaborative, and practical, with a focus on building skills you can use in everyday life.

I earned my doctorate in school and clinical psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, residential programs, university counseling centers, schools, and private practice. Through this diverse experience, I’ve completed advanced training in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), sex therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples therapy.

Clients often tell me they feel genuinely heard in our sessions and appreciate my balance of warmth, humor, and straightforward guidance. I look forward to connecting with you.
